DIET LAWNGTLAI :
District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Lawngtlai came into existence as a Telescoped DIET in 2004 in Lawngtlai. The TEAB (Teacher Education Advisory Board ) the highest committee on Techer Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in its meeting held on 29th December 2012 approved the up-gradation of six Telescoped DIETs of Mizoram. It was upgraded into full fledged DIET on 15th April 2013 vide notification No. A/11050/2010 – EDN by the government of Mizoram. The DIETs runs under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the Union Government of India under the ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Elementary Education and Literacy.
- Teacher Education :
The major thrust of a DIET is education of teacher as working in the field of elementary education through :
- Training of fresh incumbents to be full-fledged teachers.
- Refresher In-service Training programmes on various areas of education for teachers with a considerable span of experience.
- Enrolment :
DIET starts enrolment of the teacher trainee in the month of June for D.El Ed course in English medium with intake of 50 students as per government instruction.
2. THE COURSE :
- Objectives of the course :
- Develop acquaintance with the theories and methodologies of teaching the school subjects from class I to VIII.
- Study the subject contents as per the curriculum of elementary education in the state.
- Practice different methods of teaching in actual classroom situations.
- Enable to bring about qualitative change in the elementary education.
- Subjects :
The trainees are advised to go through the details of the curriculum.
