Training on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Held at DIET Lawngtlai

A three-day training on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) was held at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Lawngtlai, from 29th September to 1st October 2026. A total of 84 primary school teachers from the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) and the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) attended. DIET faculty members gave a clear and concise explanation of FLN across the various subjects taught at the primary level.

Resource persons guided the participants in analysing the FLN assessment booklet and its questionnaire, after which the teacher trainees worked in groups to prepare their own FLN questions. The training strengthened the teachers' understanding of FLN and their ability to design assessment questions, and is expected to contribute to better foundational learning among primary school children.
